How to get a Kentucky VA Certificate of Eligibility for a VA Mortgage Loan

How to get a  VA Mortgage Certificate of Eligibility.

If the borrower is active duty you should be fine requesting your COE online.

If they are Reserve:

·        Ask the borrower if they are active or inactive.
·        If they are active you will need to get from them a Statement of Service or orders.
·        If they are inactive you will  need to get from the borrower a Retirement Point Statement or 256 Honorable discharge.

If they are National Guard:

·        Ask the borrower if they are active or inactive.
·        If they are active you will need to get from the borrower a Statement of Service
·        If they are inactive you will need to get from the borrower a NGB22

If the borrower does not have the above documentation they can call the National Guard / Reserves Records Center and request what they need. That  number is 888-276-9472. If you can get the above information prior to requesting the COE we can attach the documentation and it will speed up the turn time on the COE. If not it will take them the 10-14 days to research and get the appropriate documentation.
